About Our Hearing Center
At Mountain Audiology, we take pride in evaluating the “whole” lifestyle of the patient. Before making a hearing instrument recommendation, we evaluate the hearing loss and ask questions regarding lifestyle. We strive to not over fit a patient with technology that is not needed.
“As a graduate student studying audiology, I had a dream to one day open an audiology private practice in my home area of Haywood County, North Carolina. I wanted to serve the hearing needs of the local people. That dream became a reality on September 3, 2002, as Mountain Audiology opened its door in a small back space at the otolaryngology office of John F. Tannehill, MD. I had been working there part-time for twelve years while working full time as an audiology clinical instructor at Western Carolina University. Dr. Tannehill’s encouragement and willingness helped me get my foot on the ground before moving to our present location in August, 2004. We have since enlarged our space two times and grown from 1400 square feet to over 2000 square feet.” - Leslie O. Gant, Au. D.
